Classes
To become a licensed massage therapist in the state of Texas requires 500 hours of education. The academic portion of the program involves 450 hours of class work. The remaining 50 hours are internship.
The academic portion of the program will meet in two semester; a fall semester and a spring semester. Subjects covered in the fall semester are Anatomy, Pathology, Health, Hydrotherapy (10 hours), & Technique (100 hours). The subjects covered in the spring semester are Kinesiology, Business, Physiology, Hydrotherapy (10 hours) & Technique (100 hours). A student may enter the program during either semester. Once the student has completed the 450 hours of academic work, the 50 hour internship will be scheduled. During the academic portion of the program, classes will meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays from 9 am to 2 pm.
The Fall 2008 Semester will meet from August 13 to November 20.
